Slow and steady
If there is a principle which transcends a nursery rhyme and translates to the entire spectrum of human experience it is “slow and steady”. If you can successfully remove the “wins the race” part from your psyche you already are the winner. Focusing on winning any race is such a distraction from the present moment that it will surely lead to your emotional destruction.
If making a coffee in the morning Dervish, don’t rush. Make it slowly. Taste it. Ensure it is not burnt and that your coffee cup is properly sealed. If you do by chance spill coffee on your white shirt, realise that you did not seal it and the if you did then the Universe has a sense of humour.
Dervish, when folding clothes, do it with love. When thinking about things that you simply cannot predict, don’t let the anxiety kick in. Just take it slow and do your best in the moment, it’s all any human can do. Don’t sabotage yourself with anxiety.
If in war… Well don’t go to war. Be grateful for the situation that you are in.
If you must think of the future and could plan the perfect day, how would it look like? Slow, steady and full of love or fast paced and uncertain. I know which way I’m leaning.
